Where to start, where to start?
Well, how about we start at the begining with how we met. It was late one summer night and we were at a local karaoke event with some mutual friends. I had just finished singing a couple songs and Candice was sitting at a table talking with one of her girlfriends. I was talking with some of my friends at a table near by, and couldn't stop noticing someone special just across the way. I had never seen anyone so breathtaking, and I knew that I just had to go say hello and introduce myself. So, that's exactly what I did. No pick up lines, no funny jokes, just 'Hello'. I told her I had to come say hello and tell her just how beautiful I thought she was. I don't know exactly how she fell for it. I like to think that it was my magnificent singing voice, or maybe my boyish good looks and charm. But either way, the end result was exactly what I wanted when I went and said hello. From that night on, we started a friendship and really got to know each other. It was a short time later that friendship developed into something more, and I don't think we have spent much more than a few days apart since then. We moved in together about a year later and were engaged two years to the day from when we started dating.
We live in Lakewood, WA, a short way from Candice's Mom and Dad. We spend much of our time with friends and family in this area. We camp, we hike, we play games and try to find new ways to enjoy each other's company as much as we can. We look forward to summer every year, since this is about the only time we can really be outdoors and active. We have a little paddle boat we use to go out on our lake. One of our favorite things to do is 'Boatdrink Night'. My sister, Heather, taught us how to make a delicious rum concoction that seems to taste so much better on our paddle boat.
We can't wait to see what the future holds. We look forward to starting a family and growing as a couple. We love our family and thank them for all their help in this wedding planning process. Jennifer, Candice's Mom, is helping us with center pieces and little loose ends. My Mom, Jade, is also amazing. She has found so many neat little things for us to incorporate in the decorations that has saved us so much from our decorating budget. A big thanks goes out to those two wonderful ladies.
We are beyond excited for the big day, and can't wait to see each and every one of you! Bring your party pants, because believe me when I say, IT IS ON!!!
